Occasionally we need people to join our team at Velvet Underground Tattoo. This includes Tattoo Artists, Tattoo Apprentices, Studio Management and Social Media.

Hello! We are sad to say some of our incredible artists will be leaving us in June to start exciting new projects. This means we are looking for new artists to meet client requests, fine line and colour work particularly! 


  • Preferably 3-4 years experience

  • Artist with their own client base and style are also very much welcome.

  • Bookings, promotion and clients provided on commission base (60%) 

  • Chair rental with bookings also available

We are excited to offer guest spots once again! It is always a pleasure to host both travelling artists and locals.  

Chair Hire Fee & What's Included:

We charge a flat fee of £150 per day for the chair hire.  No half days, no refunds and no discounts.

It is ideal to know ahead of time what days you are available so we can ensure there are enough free chairs in the studio. 

You will then handle all your bookings, quotes and payment transactions for your work direct with the customer at whatever rate you wish to charge them - please note our licensed opening hours for customers are 11:00-19:00 so they should not arrive prior to 11:00. 

  • Included: social media promotion on the studio page, general studio cleaning, chair hire plus the use of any basic studio consumables from our stock cupboard, stencil machine etc. Our front desk staff will greet your customers and have them fill in a release form on arrival and let you know they are here.  Just let us know who is coming in and when and we will make them feel welcome!

  • Not included: organising or amending bookings with your customers, taking deposits, machines, power supplies, colour inks, apprentice support to set up and clear down your station.


Before you are able to tattoo here we will need the following on file here to check you are licensed to tattoo and in case the Council stop by; it's the same for our resident artists too. Scanned/electronic copies are fine.

1. A copy of your photo ID

2. Current tattoo/special treatments licence

3. Hepatitis B vaccination proof (if you don't yet have Hep B then Superdrug and Lloyds Pharmacy do a reasonably priced vaccination).
